As someone who has a hectic school semester, busy days tend to be the norm for me. Sometimes on those busy days, you can forget to keep yourself some time to wind down and relax. We can be so focused on finishing up tasks that we forget to give ourselves a little care. I think it’s important to practice a bit of self-care after being so busy, it could feel like a reward after finishing the day. Today, I’m going to go through a few tips that I think people could do at the end of a busy day.
1. Listening to music
I feel like music is universally loved and listening to some can be a great way to relax. I would play some playlists of my favourite music from youtube or Spotify.
2. Catching up on a tv show/watching a movie.
Everyone probably has that tv show that they started then got busy with or a movie they were interested in but didn't have the time to watch it. At the end of a busy day, watching an episode or a movie can be so helpful. I recently got encouraged by a friend to watch the Marvel movies (yes, I didn’t really watch marvel before) and I must say, it’s been nice watching one after I accomplished my task for the day.
3. A good cup of tea
This can be a great way to calm the body after a stressful day. A cup of your favourite tea can be the best thing. I try to enjoy a cup of peppermint or chamomile when I get the chance.
4. A great meal
Whether it’s a home-cooked meal or some takeout, some good food can put you in a better mood. I’m a foodie so a great meal can always make me feel better at the end of the day.
5. Taking a relaxing shower/bath
Nothing like some warm water and your favourite body wash or body scrub to wash the day’s stress away.
6. Change into some comfy clothes
After the relaxing shower, you can put on some soft comfy clothes. You should feel the most comfortable at the end of the day.
7. Play a video game
If you like video games, playing one of your favourite games can give you that fun after all your hard work. My favourite to play is the sims 4 and I would just play for like an hour.
8. Read a book
You could start a book that’s been sitting on the shelf for a while or continue reading a book you started. I’m not the biggest bookworm but I do have a few books that I should get started on.
9. Doing your skincare routine
This can be so relaxing to cleanse, exfoliate and maybe use a face mask at the end of the day. I enjoy putting on a face mask and laying down, makes me feel I’m at a spa but obviously I’m in my bedroom haha.
10. Get some good sleep
Sleep is the best part to look forward to after getting so much work done. Everyone is well deserving of a good night’s sleep and as a sleepy girl, it’s my favourite part of the day.
After having a hectic school semester, I would try to take care of myself when the day was done. I believe everyone should have some sort of self-care after a busy day and I hope these tips can remind you to always remember yourself at the end of the day.
